As part of our broking services, we may submit your application to one or more credit providers on our panel.
Schedule of Credit Providers
When you consent to us providing credit assistance, you are authorising us to disclose your information to credit providers on our panel for the purpose of assessing your application. The current list of credit providers we may submit your application to is set out below.The website of each credit provider contains details of the credit reporting bodies that credit provider deals with, the information held about you, and the rights you have. This Schedule may be updated from time to time as our panel changes.
Credit Reporting and Credit-Related Information
If you apply for credit or ask us to assist you in relation to credit, we may:
- obtain your consent to request credit reporting information on your behalf
- disclose your identification information to a credit reporting body
- obtain and use information from a credit reporting body to preliminarily assess your application
- disclose your credit-related information to a credit provider, insurer or other relevant party as part of the application process
A credit provider to whom we submit an application may also disclose information about you to, and collect information about you from, one or more credit reporting bodies.
Notifiable Matters and Credit Provider Privacy Documents
Each credit provider on our panel maintains its own privacy and credit reporting policy. These policies are often described as “notifiable matters”, “privacy policy”, “credit reporting policy” or “privacy disclosure statement and consent” on the credit provider’s website.Among other things, those policies will explain:
- that the credit reporting body may include information disclosed about you to other credit providers to assess your credit worthiness
- that if you become overdue in making consumer credit payments, or you commit a serious credit infringement, the credit provider may disclose that information to a credit reporting body
- how you can obtain the credit provider’s or credit reporting body’s policies about managing your credit information
- your right to access and correct information held about you, and to complain about conduct that may breach privacy and credit reporting laws
- your right to request a credit reporting body not to use your information for direct marketing pre-screening
- your right to request a credit reporting body not to release information about you if you believe you are a victim of fraud
Once a credit provider approves your application, this detail will also be included in the privacy disclosure statement and consent document that credit provider provides to you directly.The website address for each credit provider on our panel is listed in the Schedule of Credit Providers above.
Your Rights in Relation to Credit Information
You have rights under Australian privacy and credit reporting laws, including the right to:
- request access to information we hold about you
- request correction of inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date information
- request a copy of our Privacy Policy or Privacy Disclosure Statement and Consent in a form that suits you
- request that a credit reporting body does not use your information for direct marketing pre-screening
- request that a credit reporting body does not release your information if you believe you are a victim of fraud
Direct Marketing
We may use your personal information to provide you with offers or information about other goods or services we, or any of our associated entities, may be able to provide to you, where permitted by law.You can opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by:
